Roam July 2026 Round-Up

July was another active month for Roam, with updates across connectivity, AI, and the broader ecosystem. Throughout the month, Roam expanded its eSIM and AI offerings, refined ecosystem participation, and supported new community and industry initiatives.

Here’s a look back at some of the key highlights from the month.

1.Roam Expands eSIM Connectivity With Voice and SMS Plans

Roam expanded its eSIM services with new Voice and SMS Plans, bringing mobile data, phone calls, and text messaging together in a single eSIM. The new plans are designed to give travelers and globally mobile users a more complete connectivity experience across supported regions.

The launch extends Roam’s eSIM utility beyond data-only access and makes it easier for users to stay connected through the communication channels they rely on while moving between regions.

2.Roam AI Broadens Model Choice and API Support

Roam expanded Roam AI with access to additional models and highlighted support for ChatGPT-compatible APIs and the Claude Messages API. The update gives users and developers more flexibility to explore different models through one platform and connect Roam AI with tools they already use.

By supporting familiar API formats, Roam AI can fit more naturally into existing development workflows, helping teams test models, build applications, and move from individual AI tools toward more connected AI experiences.

3.AirBeam Wireless Technologies Enters a Proposed Transaction With Eva Live

In July, Roam highlighted a proposed transaction involving AirBeam Wireless Technologies, which Roam describes as the incubator behind the project. Eva Live signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire a 51% controlling interest, with an option to acquire the remaining 49%, in a proposed transaction valuing AirBeam at approximately US$16 million.

The announcement places AirBeam’s advanced wireless portfolio—and the technology lineage connected with Roam—within Eva Live’s broader vision for AI-powered communications and autonomous systems. The proposed transaction remains subject to due diligence, the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements, and customary closing conditions.

4.Roam Refines the Lock-Up Pool Rules

Roam updated the Lock-Up Pool rules by revising staking thresholds and introducing a cooling-period mechanism for eSIM data redemption. The changes further refined how users participate in the pool and access connectivity benefits across the Roam ecosystem.

The update gives participants clearer parameters around staking and redemption while maintaining the practical connection between ecosystem participation and real-world eSIM utility.

5.Roam Joins River Sessions x AI in Tokyo

On July 13, Roam joined the first River Sessions x AI robotics meetup in Japan, held in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Co-hosted by River and Axis Robotics, the event brought together 0G Labs, Kite AI, Roam, and Chainbase to explore physical AI and machine intelligence.

The meetup created space for teams working across AI, robotics, data, and decentralized infrastructure to exchange ideas about how intelligent systems can operate in the physical world. Roam contributed a connectivity and infrastructure perspective to this growing conversation.

6.Roam AI World Cup Campaign Builds Community Momentum

From July 2 to July 16, Roam invited the community to take part in the Roam AI World Cup Campaign. Participants used Roam AI to create football-themed posters, stadium scenes, hype videos, and fan memes, turning a major global sporting moment into a hands-on opportunity to experiment with AI-assisted creativity.
