Top 10 Common Questions about the Pilot “Burning” Pools

Since the 2025 Lunar New Year Pilot “Burning” Pool Event began on January 24, thousands of users have successfully converted their Roam Points into upcoming $ROAM tokens. Roam offers three pilot pools for early users to explore the “burning” process on the Roam App: the General Pool, Miner Pool, and Sticker Pool. Along with the excitement of the event, some users may have questions about how the burning process works and what to do if they encounter issues. Here are answers to the top 10 common questions related to the Pilot “Burning” Pools:

Question 1: How can I participate in the event?

The Roam Pilot “Burning” Pool event is open to all users. After creating your account on the Roam App, you can start earning Roam Points through various activities like adding WiFi, checking in, referring friends, or deploying Roam miners. Once you’ve earned at least 500 points and held them for 48 hours, you’re ready to participate in the event. With distinct pools offering different rewards, make sure to check out each pool’s rules before getting started. Learn more about the rules and mechanisms here.

Question 2: Why can’t I burn in the Sticker “Burning” Pool?

If you’re unable to burn in the Sticker “Burning” Pool, there could be several reasons. The most common issues include:

  1. Roam Points: You may not have enough 500 Roam Points or haven’t held them for more than 48 hours.

  2. Sticker Limit:The Sticker Pool allows a maximum of 50 stickers at a time. Exceeding this limit will prevent the burn.

  3. Sticker Quantity: You might not have enough stickers to meet the 500 Roam Point minimum required. For example, 2 common stickers might only allow you to burn 100 Roam Points, so you’d need more stickers to reach the minimum.

Question 3: Why can’t I burn my Roam Points even though I have a lot of Roam Points?

If your points can not be burned or showing a balance of 0, here are some possible reasons:

  1. Wrong Pool Selection: Each pool are designed with different purpose. The General Pool is open to all, the Sticker Pool is for users validating Roam WiFi hotspots, and the Miner Pool is exclusively for points generated from Roam Miners. If your points don’t match the pool’s criteria, you won’t be able to convert them.

  2. App Delays: Sometimes, delays or lags can occur due to app performance on certain devices. Try closing and reopening the app, or reinstall it to ensure you’re using the latest version.

  3. Frozen Points: Roam uses a security system to detect fraudulent activities, such as using bots or adding fake WiFi hotspots. If suspicious activity is detected, your points may be frozen, preventing burning.

Question 4: How can I stop the burning process or get my Roam Points back if I’m not satisfied with the conversion rate of the cycle I joined?

Once you start the burning cycle, the process cannot be paused or reversed. Your Roam Points will be locked and permanently removed upon completion. Unfortunately, neither users nor the Roam team can recover burned points under any circumstances. Therefore, it’s important to thoroughly review your Roam Points, the conversion rates, and pool rules before participating.

Question 5: It has been 48 hours since I received my Roam Points. Why can’t I burn them?

As mentioned, all Roam Points must be held in your account for at least 48 hours before joining the pool. However, the cooldown period may not start immediately when you receive the points. Roam Points are updated daily at 00:00 UTC, and the 48-hour period is measured after the clock passes 00:00 UTC twice. For example, if you receive Roam Points at 01:00 UTC on Saturday, they will become eligible for burning on Tuesday. As a result, the waiting period for your Roam Points may extend up to a maximum of 72 hours.

Question 6: I have Roam Points earned from the Roam Miner. Is there a chance I could lose my miner Roam Points in other pools?

The answer is both yes and no The burning strategy depends on the user’s choice, and Roam does not intervene. For the General Pool and Sticker Pool, Roam Points from all sources can be burned here, including those from your Roam miner. For example, if you have 1000 points (500 from the Roam miner and 500 from Checking-In), you can choose to convert them all in the general pool. However, this doesn’t meanx you lose your chance to burn in the Miner “Burning” Pool. Your quota for burning in the miner pool remains. Once you get 500 points back, they become eligible for the Miner “Burning” Pool.

Question 7. Will the Pilot “Burning” Pool and the official “Burning” Pool be the same?

The Pilot “Burning” Pool and official “Burning” Pool will have the same machinic. However, there will be some improvements on the official “Burning” Pool. The improvements planned for the Sticker “Burning” Pools include removing the 50-sticker limit per burn and eliminating the 5,000-point cap, making the process more efficient. Additionally, a text box will be provided for directly entering burn cycles and points, streamlining the process.
